This event is a follow-up to last year’s successful workshop on social networks theory and measurement, also hosted at Nuffield College, Oxford. The general theme of the event is social networks and social capital, with most participants either focusing on cross-national social network measurement issues; or identifying analytical and empirical links between social networks and social capital related outcomes (e.g., income, jobs, health, political behavior.)
Agenda: A more detailed schedule will be available shortly. The workshop will be convened on the morning of Wednesday, 24 June 2009 and to finish in the afternoon of Thursday, 25 June 2009. A workshop dinner will be held at Nuffield on the evening of 24 June, and any participants still around Oxford will join up to go to a local restaurant on Thursday evening. The event will feature several traditional paper presentations by group members and other relevant scholars, as well as working group sessions to discuss collaborative future research projects proposed at last year’s meeting. We encourage other members with an interest in social networks to attend, either as a presenter or a participant.
Costs: Participation in the conference is free, travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed to the Team members (see the appropriate research team page.) Other Equalsoc members should contact their home institutions for Equalsoc funding.
